The Sustainable Condo is a full-size 24’ x 40’ condominium-style living space that displays green technologies and sustainable products, all of which are currently available. The Sustainable Condo is a project by EcoSmart Foundation, a non-profit organization based in Vancouver and supported by a strong group of industry leaders in sustainability including Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), Parc Downsview Park Inc. (PDP), RBC, Sears Canada, NIKKA DESIGN and a range of other Canadian partners.

The exhibit has been showcased in Toronto at ten venues since September 2006 including IIDEX, Construct Canada, Realtor Quest, the Green Living Show and the Canadian National Exhibition. More than 175,000 people, including industry professionals and consumers, have visited the condo.

It now has a new home at Downsview Park in The Hangar (an indoor recreational facility) as part of an initiative to educate consumers about ways they may save energy, reduce their utility bills, improve their indoor air quality and help the environment through changing behaviours or purchasing the products in keeping with sustainable living.
